What Is Your Why? Finding Resonance
“Let this be the month you choose from clarity, not fear.
Say yes only to what feels resonant in your body.
Let go of what no longer fits.
Stay curious.
Anchor in what lights you up.
Because when your "why" is true, the path opens.
And that, beloved, is when the magic begins.”
We’re in the final golden stretch of summer. We are at the cusp of coming change. September always brings a shift, but this year, it’s more than seasonal. We are at a turning point, a pivot in the year of ascending and descending energy in nature’s cycle.
This is a month of endings and eventually new beginnings—both individually and collectively. What happens in September has the power to influence humanity more than other dates of the year. In addition, with the eclipses this month accelerating our personal journey and collective journey. One core question I have been contemplating and is essential at these times is:
What Is Your Why?
“Why” is the golden question children always ask. They know the "why" behind something, is where the power is.
We all want to have experiences, achieve goals, and manifest creations. But why do you truly want them? Is it from your heart—or from a hidden need to be accepted, feel safe or to make money? Though there is nothing wrong with these things in and of themselves, if we are not clear they can be compensating agendas and they can pull us out of resonance and alignment into fixing rather than creating something that makes our heart sing?
Let’s say you want to write a book or something else. Is it to be recognized? Or to share something that moves you deeply? What is the true “why” that resonates deep in your heart? If you imagine yourself as whole and complete already, what is your true “why?”
The Power of Resonance
Resonance is a quality of sound that rings clear and deep. When I play my singing bowls, the steady clear sound that comes through when I am very present is a heartfelt resonance. In daily life resonance is a quality that makes something meaningful. Resonance is when your body, mind, and spirit are aligned. It’s the difference between forcing your path and flowing with it.
When your “why” is in resonance, you’re in full alignment with truth—and that’s when creation becomes easeful, even magical. But when there’s dissonance—when your head, heart and body are at odds—everything feels heavier, unclear, or blocked and tiring.
A Real-Life Shift
A client I spoke to last week had a choice to write a book to help people. A beautiful intention. She also underneath it, feared being misunderstood. She was afraid success might lead to exposure and rejection.
As we went deeper, something was revealed.
Her true desire and vision for the book was to connect people, to create community, and to inspire transformation. When she touched that deeper truth, tears came. That was her resonance. It was her real why that touched her—and everything shifted from there.
How to Find Your Why
Try this simple practice and let’s uncover you deep why
Bring your hand to your heart. Breathe.
Think of something you would like to experience, have or create.
Ask: “What’s is really true about why do I want this?”
Listen to your body. What feels tight? What feels open? Listen.
Ask yourself: “If I know I am whole and complete, would I want to create this, or and what would I love to create and Why?”
Stay curious and be open to receiving what is even deeper.
Resonance isn’t something you chase—it’s something you tune into.
Why are you doing the things you are doing?
Be like a child in curiosity who asks “Why?’ and dig deeper into your heart and receive your true resonance.
May you find ease and curiosity in your unfolding at this time of change.
Love and light, Ashera
